In Case You Forgot, I'm Black - A Film by Dende
Dende is clearly a man of many talents. Releasing a short film titled In Case You Forgot I'm Black, Dende is guaranteed to move the soul and mind of everyone who presses play.
We all know that there are way too many injustices that Black people face to this day. Dende created a film that does an amazing job depicting the current situation in an artistic way that will reach everyone's emotions, if you're not purposely blinding yourself from what is going on in the world that is. Beginning this short film with scenes from the protests that began after the death of George Floyd, we become reminded how so many went out to protest from all over the world in the middle of a pandemic in order to put a stop to police brutality and inequality. Brilliantly using music as a way to heal and to spread information by rapping different songs in various scenes, Dende cleverly shows how art is a tool. The ending is particularly captivating when Dende (through song) speaks to a young Black boy, letting him know that he can be anything that he wants to be in this world. This is a short film that you don't want to miss out on. Black Lives matter: always.
